Anthropic Releases Claude Sonnet 5.5, Faster at Everyday Office Work
The new mid-tier model is built for documents, slides, and spreadsheets, at the same price.
Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5.5 on September 28, replacing Sonnet 5. According to 9to5Mac, the company says it runs more than 30 percent faster than its predecessor while using fewer tokens, and is tuned for clearly scoped tasks like creating documents, slides, and spreadsheets.
Developer pricing stays the same as Sonnet 5, and the model is available now.
For a business owner, faster turnaround on reports, proposals, and spreadsheets is the practical upgrade here. If you use Claude for that kind of work, you get the improvement without paying more.
